No comments:
At the meeting D11 held on May 29th, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed much information about the product "Apple", which is why the company is not a large screen of the iPhone.

When Apple was busy with iPod, company has launched many an iPod with sizes from small to large, such as iPod Classic, iPod Mini, iPod Shuffle. But to break the mold when Samsung smartphone size 4.x to 5.x smartphones inch inch Galaxy (S3, Note), to create a new trend in the market, Apple is losing market share.

The reason for this, Apple CEO Tim Cook said: "Apple has sold many types of iPod because the market is large enough, should produce different sizes of products that meet the different needs each person is reasonable. "Every iPod has a different function separately.

So far, Apple has tried to serve all people with all kinds of needs with a single iPhone. "This may change over time," said Tim Cook said. "Apple could create a phone with a big screen."

The time it takes a long time to the details of a phone with hardware, software and services. To do this, well, he prefers to focus on a multi-line phone. That's why Apple has not released many smartphones already perform similar to the iPod.

In addition, according to Tim Cook, "a (smartphone) on the big screen today in many exchange market," as the display of the dark color of the screen brightness and use more power and less true. During this time, Apple's customers want the "burden" of the foregoing and "make a decision".

"And now Apple is making a slightly smaller screen, this is the best solution for most customers."

On the market trend and losing market share to rivals, says Tim Cook "victory is never on the creation of more." He continued to explain, "the Apple laptops to create the best, but not the best. Create the best MP3 player, but no more. Creating the best tablet sell more Best. Create the best smartphone, but no more. "

Tim Cook is based on three measures: the commitment, the level of customer satisfaction and business.

iPhone Mini reportedly launching this summer

No comments:
iphone 5S release and iphone mini
The key to big markets like China and Brazil is a smaller, cheaper iPhone

A smaller iPhone may be joined by an iPad refresh.

The next device from Apple is rumored to be the iPhone Mini, a smaller - and more importantly cheaper - version of its smartphone, and the release date may be in the summer.

There are plenty of reasons why Apple needs to start making the cheaper iPhone Mini, and the Morgan Stanley managing director of the PC hardware industry, Katy Huberty, points that out after meeting with Apple Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer.

Emerging markets like China and Brazil have snapped up the iPad Mini, according to her comments picked up by CNET.

"iPad Mini is expanding Apple's customer base with 50 [percent] of purchases in China/Brazil representing new customers to the ecosystem," said Huberty.

Likewise, Chinese consumers are showing signs that they're willing to buy into the latest models of the iPhone instead of the smartphone's older generations.

Preparing for expanding markets as well as existing ones, she anticipates that new carrier partnerships will take place in Q2 2014 with NTT Docomo, T-Mobile, and China Mobile.
All Quiet on the Western Front

Outside of those emerging markets, Huberty notes that Apple's everyday consumers have been buying older versions of the iPhone.

"iPhone 4 demand surprised to the upside in the December quarter," she said.

She didn't speculate whether the reason for this is due to the lower price of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S or the lack of innovation in the iPhone 5.

In addition to saying that the iPhone Mini could launch in the summer, Huberty said that she expects that the iPad could be refreshed in the middle of the year.

I'm no analyst, but I think summer and middle of the year might happen at the same time.

Either way, rumors suggest that an iPad Mini 2 will roll out with a Retina display, and that iPad 5 will be completely redesigned.

iOSDoc acquired a photo from a trusted source that shows the A7 processor on the motherboard of the iPhone 5S, and this, while being a rumor still, may hint at a monumental upgrade on the phone itself and may remind one of the upgrade we saw on the iPhone 4/4s that came out last year.

How To Add Colors To Your iPhone 5 Before Apple

No comments:

Users who want a colored iPhone don’t have to wait for the next generation of the device, thanks to one British company. iPhone5 users can send their phones to Mendmyi, where their smartphone would get a custom colorization. You can also purchase a colored smartphone.

Add Colors To iPhone5 Before Apple

Mendmyi has been offering to colorize iPhones for a few years now, but recently, they learnt how to color the metal design and separate parts using the anodizing technique.

Riki Baker, founder of Mendmyi, explained, “It’s taken us a while, but we’ve got there.” They offer twelve color choices for the iPhone shell including lime green, gold, pink, purple, steel blue, slate, black, and many more. The latter version offers a classic black/black look that’s different from the current black/slate iPhone 5. Baker added, “Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) anodises its metal shells to 13 microns, we use a 20 to 30 micron coating. That gives you a tougher finish.”

Although the shells aren’t necessarily scratch-proof, they will fare better over the bumps and dents you may get from general usage.

Users who want to make over their iPhone 4 and 4S can order spare parts and do the replacements themselves. For the price of £146, you can purchase a kit containing everything you need for an easy replacement. If you would rather have experts do the hard work for you, you can send your iPhone5 in for £186 to replace the shell. Alternatively, you could also have your current shell replaced for £96. Baker reminds us that although many customers opt for the first and most affordable option, they do struggle. For those who struggle, Mendmyi offers to only charge the difference if users decide to send it in.

It’s predicted that later on this year, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will release the iPhone5S in a variety of colors. Although there is no word on when the next generation smartphone will arrive, it could arrive as early as this summer.

Best iPhone 5 Cases

No comments:

Got your hands on an iPhone 5? Be smart and protect it. Check out 35 of the coolest cases you'll find designed specifically for Apple's latest smartphone.

39 Cool Apple iPhone 4S Cases
On the inside, Apple's latest smartphone, the iPhone 5, packs in plenty of improvements: a faster A6 processor with better graphics and battery performance, speedy LTE connectivity, and iOS 6, which adds scores of new software features. But for many, the biggest deal is that, for the first time in two years, the iPhone actually looks different on the outside.

39 Cool Apple iPhone 4S CasesApple didn't stray too far from its successful design formula; the new iPhone is still the same shape with the same lines, but it's longer, thinner, and lighter, with a larger 4-inch display, and a smaller, redesigned Lightning connector.
Another key change: The iPhone's back panel is now mostly aluminum, rather than a single sheet of glass, as it was on the iPhone 4 and 4S. This makes the new design a bit more durable, but make no mistake, you still need a case for protection. And these days, you can get a high-quality case for as little as $10. It's a small price to pay to help keep your phone in good condition while you wait to upgrade to the iPhone 6.
Apple's design changes have sparked a huge new crop of third-party accessories, including cases, built specifically for the iPhone 5. And we see new cases all the time (so we update this story often), but for now, here are some of the most righteous cases to protect, add some flair, and even increase your iPhone 5's functionality.
Have a case you love, but it's not listed here? Let us know in the comments below.

I thought we had gone through the torture after seeing the iPhone 5 being blended in the mixer and the iPhone 5 drop tests, but I was wrong.

A new YouTube video shows what happens to an iPhone 5 when it is put inside a microwave.

As Kenny Irwin who calls himself a professional Microwave operator has warned, don’t even think of trying this at home.

Apple Lets Buyers on China Web Pay in 2-Year Installments

No comments:

Apple Inc. (AAPL) introduced installment payment plans for buyers of iPhones and MacBook laptops in China as it struggles to compete with low-cost devices in the world’s largest computer and mobile-phone market.

Apple Lets Buyers on China Website Pay in Two-Year Installments

Jerome Favre/Bloomberg
Apple will let buyers split payments into 3, 6, 12, 18 or 24 installments, according to its website. Through Jan. 23, choosing 12 or fewer installments carries no interest. An interest of 6.5 percent will be charged for 18 installments, and 8.5 percent for 24 installments.

Payments on purchases costing from 300 yuan ($48) to 30,000 yuan made via the company’s Chinese website can be spread over as long as two years, according to the site. The plan, which requires a China Merchants Bank Co. (600036) credit card, has fees ranging from zero to 8.5 percent.

Apple, based in Cupertino, California, is trying to make its products more affordable in China after being surpassed by local suppliers such as ZTE Corp. (000063) and Lenovo Group Ltd. (992) in the smartphone market. The iPhone 5, released in China last month, is priced at 5,288 yuan on Apple’s local site, equal to about six weeks’ pay for the average urban worker.

“There is an enormous mid-range consumer market that they are not tapping into,” said Mark Natkin, managing director of Marbridge Consulting Ltd., a Beijing-based market research firm. “They’re trying to figure out how to make products more accessible to that market segment. This is a good step in that direction.”

Monthly Payments

Online customers in China will be able to split payments into three, six, 12, 18 or 24 installments, according to Apple’s website. Through Jan. 23, choosing 12 or fewer installments carries no fee. A fee of 6.5 percent of the selling price will be charged for 18 installments, and 8.5 percent for 24 installments.

Carolyn Wu, a Beijing-based Apple spokeswoman, declined to say how or if those fees are divided between the company and the bank.

Apple dropped to sixth in China’s smartphone market in the third quarter, from fourth in the prior three-month period, as local producers lured buyers with smartphones costing less than 1,000 yuan each, according to researcher IDC.

The phone-maker is also opening new stores in China and Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook has visited twice in the past 10 months as the company tries to boost sales. The country will eventually overtake the U.S. to become Apple’s largest market, Cook said last week.

Urban workers in China had average monthly pay of about 3,585 yuan in the first nine months of last year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

Apple “has likely approached maximum penetration in China’s higher economic stratas, and now needs to be able to appeal to students, workers and rural residents to sustain robust growth,” said David Wolf, China managing director for market consultant Allison+Partners in Beijing.

“Financing is traditionally the best route to make expensive luxury items affordable to those unable to save the cash for them, and if Apple pulls it off it will be a pioneer in consumer credit in China,” Wolf said.

U.S., Brazil

Apple has used financing plans in other markets, including the U.S., Brazil and Singapore, according to its local sites for those countries.

In the U.S., a limited time offer allows new Visa card members with Barclays Bank Delaware to get no-interest financing for as long as 18 months. Users of the company’s online store in Brazil can pay in 12 installments without interest when placing an order with American Express, MasterCard or Visa, according to the local site. In Singapore, the company offers a 12-month interest-free installment plan on purchases of at least S$668 ($545) with a Citibank credit card.
In China, Apple recorded $5.7 billion of sales during the quarter ended September. The company has 11 retail outlets in the country, including Hong Kong

The phone-maker distributes iPhones in China through China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. (762) and China Telecom Corp. (728), the nation’s second- and third-largest carriers. Both companies offer subsidies on the handset that can reduce the cost to consumers.

Apple has yet to reach agreement to offer the devices through China Mobile Ltd. (941), whose customers make up 64 percent of the nation’s 1.1 billion mobile users.

Would Apple really make an iPhone mini?

No comments:
iPhone Mini

For the last couple of years, analysts have waxed poetic about an iPhone mini. The logic is that Android's dominance of budget and emerging markets will "force" Apple to release the mythical budget iPhone. Is there anything to this, or is it just a bunch of hot air?

Past as prologue?

iPhone Mini
On the surface, an iPhone mini looks like a no-brainer. The iPod mini, Mac mini, and iPad mini were all cheaper – and successful – versions of iconic Apple products.
From a business perspective, each of these minis lowered the entry fee for its product line. But from a consumer perspective, they each added something else:
The iPod mini (and, later, the iPod nano) added greater portability. Gym rats, commuters, and children loved its smaller form factor, and it went on to outsell the classic iPod.
The Mac mini adds flexibility, as the only consumer Mac that isn't an all-in-one. It smooths the transition for Windows converts who already own a monitor, mouse, and keyboard.
The iPad mini adds portability and comfort. It's much lighter and easier to hold than the 9.7-inch iPad, which it is likely outselling (possibly by a large margin).

Added value

Unless Apple radically changes its values, an iPhone mini would need to add something other than a cheap price tag. But what?
Making it lighter and thinner could add value. But that's already one of the iPhone 5’s killer features. Wouldn't it need something different?
A smaller screen? iPhone customers have already spent five years using 3.5-inch displays, and anything smaller would cramp and cripple iOS.
It could add the flexibility of buying off-contract for pre-paid service. But isn't that the same as saying it's cheap?

Hints

iPhone Mini
We can also look to Apple's branding for clues. Seven months before Apple announced the iPad mini, the company dropped numbering from the iPad line. What everyone expected to be the "iPad 3" was just "iPad." This paved a road of simplicity: iPad and iPad mini.
The iPhone, though, still has a numeric suffix. If Apple was already moving forward with an iPhone mini, wouldn't the iPhone 5 simply be called "iPhone?"

Last year's model

Apple iPhone
Let's not forget that Apple already has a budget iPhone strategy: selling the previous two years' models in decreasing US$100 increments.
If Apple wants a bigger presence in the budget/prepaid market, it could reach back one more generation. Sell the model from three years prior for, say, $150-300 off-contract.
Wouldn't that be simpler than – and perhaps just as effective as – producing an iPhone mini?

Who knows?

Will Apple eventually make an iPhone mini? Unless you're a high-ranking Apple employee, you're left to guess.
One thing we won't see, though, is an iPhone whose sole purpose is to be smaller and cheaper. Apple could still make a new iPhone that costs less. But something about it would also have to be better. Right now, it's hard to imagine what that something would be.

Apple iPhone Mini: Price from $200 to $250?

No comments:

Apple iPhone Mini Rumors: Smartphone Price Ranges from $200 to $250?

Price speculations are currently surrounding the innovative Apple iPhone mini. According to Peter Misek, a Jefferies analyst, the iPhone mini may have an early launch this summer at a price ranging from $200 to $250.

iPhone Mini price
Photo: Reuters
Apple's iPhone mini will have lower financial arrangements comparable with the iPad and iPad mini. Analysts are also claiming that the idea of Apple releasing a low-priced iPhone mini is to defeat its competitor, Samsung.
According to Neil Mawtson of Strategy Analytics, the technology giant Apple could be competing against Samsung's Galaxy S3 Mini. However, Mawtson thinks an iPhone mini release this year is a move too quick for the company.
"We believe Apple will have to launch an 'iPhone Mini' at some point over the next three years to address the hundreds of millions of prepaid users worldwide that cannot afford the current iPhone. The iPhone 5 is growing fast and profitably right now, so there is limited incentive for Apple to launch a profit-squeezing 'iPhone Mini' this year," analyst Neil Mawtson said to CNET.
"We expect the 'iPhone Mini' to be more likely next year, in 2014, when Apple's penetration of the global postpaid smart phone market will be nearing saturation and Apple will be forced to discover fresh growth streams elsewhere," Mawtson further added.
Meanwhile, other exciting rumors continue to surface with Apple's upcoming devices. According to The Inquisitr, a next generation iPhone is slated to include more highly developed features of an iOS and Mac OS X together with pico projectors that produce virtual keyboards and full-screen desktop display.
This year, Apple is also forecasted to venture into the smart watch market with its iWatch gadget. An iWatch would reportedly enable users to monitor and organize their iPhone and iPad.

2014: Apple goes iPhone Mini, Samsung to grow

No comments:

Samsung's global smartphone sales are set to climb 35 percent in 2013, according to Strategy Analytics, and Apple's response will be the long-rumored iPhone mini. Samsung is expected to hold 33 percent of the world's smartphone market this year, compared to Apple's 21 percent and a less expensive iPhone model could help Apple keep that gap from growing wider.

iPhone Mini
Strategy Analytics executive director Neil Mawston told Reuters, "We expect Samsung to slightly extend its lead over Apple this year because of its larger multitier product portfolios."

Apple's answer to Samsung's multitier product lineup, Mr. Mawston expects, will be to release a lower cost and smaller version of the iPhone. He said that if Apple ships an iPhone mini, the company could keep Samsung from gaining more smartphone marketshare.

That said, Mr. Mawston isn't expecting Apple to ship the fabled iPhone mini any time this year.

"The iPhone 5 is growing fast and profitably right now, so there is little incentive for Apple to launch an iPhone mini this year," he said. "We expect the iPhone Mini to be more likely next year, in 2014 when...Apple will be forced to discover fresh growth streams."

He also predicted Apple will ship its next iPhone model in May or June, and that the company will add more screen sizes to its lineup. The iPhone 5 offers a 4-inch display, while the iPhone 4 and 4S ship with a 3.5-inch display.

The older iPhones in Apple's lineup are available at substantially lower prices than the iPhone 5, as well. The iPhone 4S starts at US$99 with a new contract, while the iPhone 4 can be picked up for free on contract. Mr. Mawston sees the iPhone mini filling a different low-cost market: pre-paid subscribers.

"We think Apple will have to launch an iPhone mini at some point over the next three years to address the hundreds of millions of prepaid users worldwide that cannot afford the current iPhone," he said.

Smartphone competition between Apple and Samsung has been fierce and has even spilled over into the courtroom as the two companies accuse each other of using their mobile device patents without proper licensing. Apple has also distanced itself from Samsung by cutting back on the chips it buys from the company and moving its custom chip fabrication to other manufacturers.

For now Apple seems content with its iPhone model lineup and hasn't offered up any hints that a mini model is on the way despite Strategy Analytics' belief that it is coming.

iPhone Mini will be launched?

No comments:

Rumors are circulating that Apple plans to counter Samsung’s ever-increasing control over the smartphone market by releasing a petite version of the iPhone, dubbed by pundits the iPhone mini. Could a ‘Honey I shrunk the iPhone’ version of the smartphone be the next big think to come out of Cupertino?
iPhone Mini
While it might seem like Apple has a tight grip over the smartphone market with the iPhone, Samsung is a bigger player. During 2013 Samsung smartphone sales are predicted to grow 35 percent, from 215 million last year to 290 million. In contrast, Apple sales are tipped to grow by 33 percent, to 180 million.
This shift means that Samsung will command 33 percent of the smartphone market, compared to Apple”s 21 percent.
If Apple wants to grab more market share, it needs to do something.
Enter the iPhone mini.
iPhone Mini
There’s absolutely no evidence that Apple is working on an iPhone mini — but for that matter there’s wasn’t much to indicate that the company was working on the iPad mini either — but the rumors suggest a smaller, cheaper handset that will appeal to those who are interested in the iPhone but find the current offering too expensive.
While there’s no doubt that this would have huge appeal in the U.S., a cheap iPhone would have massive appeal in countries such as China andIndia. And if Apple can gain traction in these countries, it could add billions to its profits, and millions of new users every quarter.
Would you buy an iPhone mini? If you are an existing iPhone owner, would you be interested in switching to a smaller handset?
Some funny iPhone Mini slogans:
  • iPhone Mini: For people with small hands, and small (or large) brains.
  • iPhone Mini: Every inch an iPhone. The full iPhone experience. There’s less of it, but no less to it. (After the iPad Mini slogan and apparently a different market positioning.)
