Twitter password reset email: Legit change or phishing hack?
Twitter sends password reset email to many accounts, thanks to a security breach. Or, at least, it looked like a breach, but it may just have been the usual phishing hack attempts.
Twitter says it's sorry for sending email to the wrong people, but warns us all to be on our guard where a password change is concerned. The email read, in part, "Twitter believes that your account may have been compromised by a website or service not associated with Twitter. We’ve reset your password. ... You’ll need to create a new password for your Twitter account."
